A bitter fallout between two women has landed one of them in serious legal trouble, after police say she locked a former associate out of her Instagram account and used the platform to post damaging claims.

Detectives assigned to the St Catherine North Police Division have arrested and charged a woman with breaching the Cybercrime Act following the alleged online attack.

Charged with unauthorised modification of computer data (malicious communication) is Cecilia Morris of Crawl District, Riversdale, St Catherine.

Police reports state that in November, Morris was employed as a sales representative at a business establishment along Brunswick Avenue in Spanish Town. During that time, she was reportedly granted access to the complainant's Instagram account.

Investigators say the relationship later soured, and Morris allegedly locked the complainant out of her account.

The accused is further alleged to have posted damaging photos and information about the woman, including claims that she was a scammer and that she should be shunned by potential customers.

A report was made to the Spanish Town police, and an investigation was launched.

Morris was arrested and subsequently charged following a question-and-answer interview on Friday.

She is scheduled to appear before the St Catherine Parish Court on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
