Man charged with killing windshield wiper
The St Andrew South police have laid several charges against 41-year-old forklift operator Kevin Roberts, otherwise called 'Thickman' and 'Yankee', of First Street, Bellrock Housing Scheme, Kingston 11, in relation to the murder of a man in their community on September 6.
He has been charged with murder, possession of prohibited weapon, possession of prohibited ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony. The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old windscreen wiper Romario Bailey, otherwise called 'Mario'. Reports from the Hunts Bay police are that at 1:05 a.m., residents heard explosions and later stumbled upon Bailey laying along the roadway with gunshot wounds to his upper body. The police were summoned, and on their arrival, he was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation was launched, following which Roberts was taken into custody. He was charged on October 11, after an interview in the presence of his attorney. A court date is being finalised for him.
