Woman says photographer tried to rape her inside photo studio
A St James photographer is now facing serious charges after he allegedly tried to stop a woman from leaving his studio and sexually assaulted her when she resisted.
Charged with attempted rape and grievous sexual assault is 55-year-old Wellesley Morrison, a photographer of Main Street, Mount Salem, St James.
Reports are that about 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, Morrison was at a photo studio on Fish Lane, Montego Bay, when a woman came to use the bathroom.
After she finished and attempted to leave, Morrison allegedly blocked her path and tried to prevent her from exiting. He then reportedly assaulted her.
The woman later made a report to the police, and Morrison was taken into custody the following day after being pointed out to investigators. He was charged on Friday, October 3, and is expected to appear in court at a later date.
