After a solid debut show with Marcia Griffiths in November, Saturday Night Live returns to the Sky Ultra Lounge in St Andrew on December 27 with a 1990s dancehall flavour.

Louie Culture and Frisco Kid, two of that era's leading acts, are co-headliners. Roderick Graham, whose Global Grove Saturday Night Live promotes the monthly event, was pleased with the introductory show which drew an enthusiastic audience.

"There was absolutely no teething pain. We've planned and executed a great event of which the patrons have expressed satisfaction," he said.

While Griffiths appealed to a mature audience, Graham is looking forward to a turnout of fans who came of age during the 1990s when acts like Shabba Ranks and Beenie Man, and producers such as Steely and Clevie and Dave Kelly, reigned. Louie Culture and Frisco Kid had several hit singles in the 1990s, including Gangalee and Rubbers, respectively. The latter was produced by Kelly.

"There's a certain level of authenticity, energy, and lyrics to 90's music that naturally ignites one's inner entertainment senses and makes you want to dance. That's what makes 90's music the best," said Graham.
