Body of missing St James man found
The body of a St James man who was reported missing was discovered in a shallow grave in his community on Tuesday afternoon.
The dead man has been identified as 32-year-old, Javan Scarlett, otherwise called 'Meds', of Palmyra district in Barrett Town, St James.
Reports by the St James Police are that Scarlett went missing from his community on Saturday, about 9 p.m., and was reported missing at the Barrett Town Police Station on Monday morning.
On Tuesday, community members joined forces with the police, and were carrying out a search for him in the community, when they stumbled upon what appeared to be a shallow grave in bushes at a section of the community known as Mount Zion.
The lawmen exhumed the partially decomposed body of a man. Scarlett's father identified the body.
The police say the body had what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.
